Both Deceased Students Revealed in the Providence Campus Attack as Law Enforcement Continue Search for Perpetrator.

Both young individuals who died in Saturday’s tragic incident in Providence were being remembered Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their assailant continued following the discharge by local law enforcement of the single suspect of interest in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a ceremony on Sunday.

Cook was second-in-command of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, as the club stated. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also shared words of sorrow on social media, remarking: “There are no words. Remembering her loved ones and companions, particularly her mother and father.”

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, family members said.

His name was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He harbored grand aspirations of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and helping people,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.

The Shooting Incident

An additional nine individuals were hurt in the violent event in the school of engineering of Brown’s campus in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man arrested in a police operation at a lodging about around 27 kilometers from the campus earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” said Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.
