I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
